Inside Hamish Blake's wild 40th birthday celebrations including a scavenger hunt, lavish lunch and boating disaster where good pal Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli slipped over on the jetty
Hamish Blake celebrated his 40th birthday with his family and friends in Sydney on Saturday.
And while the day started out quietly, things turned wild later on, with Hamish's best friend Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli slipping on a jetty as he jumped from a boat.
Documenting the series of events on Instagram Stories, Hamish revealed he started the day with a Survivor-style scavenger hunt organised by his wife of nine years, Zoë Foster Blake.

Hamish, Zoë, 41, and the couple's two children, son Sonny, seven, and daughter Rudy, four, embarked on the scavenger hunt at a local park.

They then took the ferry to Manly, where they enjoyed 'lunch at an old favourite', according to a post on Zoë's Instagram Stories.
It was only when they were heading home that things started to turn, with Wippa, 42, chartering a private boat for the return trip.

'Someone's best mate organised a beautiful surprise boat to get us home... BUT the water was too wild for us to get on,' Zoë wrote on Instagram Stories.
With a gap of around a metre between the boat and the jetty, Wippa made the brave decision to leap back on solid ground.
But as he jumped from the boat onto the jetty, he slipped, landing flat on his back in what looked like a painful fall.

'The trail led to these genuine Italian (themed) friends. And this elegant dismount,' Hamish captioned a video of the fall, adding the hashtag, '#wipslip'.
Meanwhile, Zoë described it as 'the most memorable moment of the day', and captioning a photo of Wippa, added: 'Stunning recovery. Outstanding friend. Terrible shoes.'
Sharing a smiling photo with his best friend post-slip, Hamish wrote: 'Post slip Wip, bounced back well! (Obviously not literally, hit the deck like a sack of s**t, but you know what I mean.)'

Clearly able to see the funny side, Wippa also shared video of his fall in a post on Instagram Stories on Sunday.
'So many, not any, messages of support. "If" you found yourself not laughing but concerned, rest, I'm OK!' he wrote.
Hamish was then treated to a marching band in the middle of a street, when the comedian decided to show off his own drumming skills.

Facing off against a group of drummers on the other side of the street, he expertly flipped the drumsticks around, before telling them to 'keep up'.
Zoë also commissioned a life-size birthday cake for her husband, which was modelled in Hamish's likeness.
'What to get the man who has everything on his 40th? A clone,' she wrote on Instagram on Sunday.

They then closed out the day with a dinner party with friends, with the group riding in a stretch limo to the restaurant.
