Social activist Dr Maibam Eteen Meitei has been conferred with the Dr Ambedkar Distinguished Service National Award-2021 acknowledging his social services and other literary activities related to the upliftment of the downtrodden and backward people.

The award was presented to him at the 37th National Dalit Writers Conference held today at Panchsheel Ashram, New Delhi organised by Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi.

Today's conference was graced by prominent personalities namely Dr Satyanarani Jatiya, former Union Minister, Sh Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj Athak, Minister of Youth & Sports, Government of Nepal and former Union Minister Sh Sanghpriya Gautam among others as the presidium members.

It may be noted that Dr Maibam Eteen Meitei who hails from Thoubal Kshetri Makha Leikai has received many awards earlier as well.
