Imphal, December 11 2021: Stating that National People's Party (NPP) is a political party which is unable to exist on its own and heavily dependent on Bharitiya Janata Party (BJP); Khurai AC MLA L SUsindro has remarked that NPP leaders should understand the need for local politics, stating that a "tree branch is incomparable to the real tree".
On Saturday, Susindro Foundation distributed cards of various schemes to 1200 beneficiaries from 12 polling stations, in a function held at Khurai Konsam Leikai community hall.
L Susindro expressed amusement over the statements made by some people who have come forward to contest the upcoming polls that he has been neglecting the constituency, while questioning what they have done for their respective localities.
It is a pity that one of them had grabbed a plot of land meant for worship, he remarked and urged for returning the said piece of land to the people.
The Khurai MLA then commented on NPP's act of bestowing its party stole (lengyan) to the women folk who were gathered on the pretext of inviting them to a Ningol Chakkouba event.
The people should Consider whether a political party based in Shillong would be able to fulfil the wishes of Manipur, when even the BJP government in Delhi is having difficulty to do so.
Any request made to Shillong will be responded only with coal, he said.
Susindro continued: "NPP is a political party which is heavily dependent on BJP and cannot stand on its own.
Even though it is part of the BJP-led coalition government in the state, people should be aware of what the party (NPP) has done for the state till date.
The NPP government in Meghalaya is able to exist only because of BJP's support.
However, NPP, a party without coalition ethics, has tried multiple times to topple the government in Manipur, while BJP has been generous and had given ministerial posts to the 4 MLAs of NPP".
In his speech, Assam Financial Corporation chairman and Assam Vistarak Pramukh Vijay Gupta lauded the work undertaken by MLA L Susindro in Khurai constituency.
He then said that there has been no other leader like PM Modi who cares deeply for its people.
Thus, the BJP government needs to stay in power for the development of the country and state, he said arid urged the people to take proactive roles in realising the goal.
As part of the function, cards of various schemes such as women empowerment benefit, widow benefit, disable benefit and old age benefit were distributed to the beneficiaries.
