Injured IRB man dies, protest held

Imphal, December 11 2021: 4 IRB jawan Yumnam Sanjit of Tendongyang Maning Leikai, who suffered injuries under controversial circumstances while posted as house guard of the Saikul MLA Yamthong Haokip and was being treated at Raj Medicity Hospital from December 5 passed away on Friday.

His body has been kept at the RIMS Morgue for the post mortem examination.

Subsequent to his death, a mass protest rally was organised by his family members and local people on Saturday which marched from Konung Mamang to CM Bungalow, but was stopped at Sanjenthong by the police.

Later, four people from among the protesters were taken to meet the chief minister but they returned back after they were not able to meet the CM .
