Imphal, December 11 2021: BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda has exhorted party workers who are in charge of the media cell to fight the ensuing battles of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election as brave warriors.
Speaking at the inaugural session of a media workshop organised by BJP Manipur Pradesh at its Nityaipat Chuthek office today, Sharda categorically stated that the party's media cell must ensure all the people are aware of the many welfare schemes and development projects taken up by the BJP-led Government and the media warriors must be effective enough to produce the desired impact.
Before the advent of information technology, it was print media which disseminated information and news to the masses.
Media is something indispensable in modern life, Sharda remarked.
BJP workers who are working in media cells at the mandal level should effectively highlight the current political scenario as well as the projects and schemes taken up by the Central Government and the State Government, she said.
It is of utmost importance for the media warriors to know their duties and responsibilities thoroughly, she said.
There was a think-tank of the party which went through all the news items published in different newspapers before compiling a file of major news and headlines and the same file was submitted to relevant officials of the party, Sharda continued.
She said that media warriors should collect news- paper clips of major headlines and important news which would be helpful to party leaders.
Noting that BJP Manipur Pradesh media in-charge Chidananda has been sharing news and other information through WhatsApp every morning, Sharda asserted that party workers who are working in media cells at the mandal level should also share major news items and important updates through their mobile phones.
Media warriors cannot simply watch silently when rivals and Opposition parties make all kinds of allegations.
They must know when and how to react, said the BJP State unit president.
Media warriors should maintain close relationship with the party's spokespersons and they should update major events and developments to the spokespersons, she said.
BJP National spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra, BJP National spokesperson and Nagaland in-charge Nalin Kohli, BJP Manipur Pradesh chief spokesperson Ch Bijoy, BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president and media in-charge Ch Chidananda and BJP National general secretary (organisation) Abhay Kumar Giri too attended the workshop.
