Brazil confirms auction of remaining 5G frequency lots in 2022

Brazil's Communications Minister, Fabio Faria, has confirmed that the auction of leftover 5G frequencies will be held in 2022, reports Folha de Sao Paulo. About 15 percent of the available lots in the 26 GHz band were not sold in the auction that took place in November. Interest from operators was muted because the 26 GHz frequency band has lower coverage penetration, requiring more expensive equipment to transmit a stronger signal.
