Ashapura Minechem(up 4.74%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 3.06%), 20 Microns(up 2.27%) and NMDC Ltd(up 0.58%) stood among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex(down 2.84%), Pokarna(down 2.20%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 1.24%), Aro Granite Industries(down 1.16%), Coal India(down 0.88%), Lexus Granito(down 0.68%), KIOCL(down 0.43%), MOIL(down 0.32%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.14%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 5.55 points down at 17511.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 20.46 points at 58786.67.

Asian Paints(up 3.29%), Grasim Industries(up 1.54%), State Bank of India(up 1.24%), SBI Life(up 1.23%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.01%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.97%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.81%), JSW Steel(up 0.81%), Bajaj Finserv(up 0.65%) and ICICI Bank(up 0.4%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 1.54%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.42%), HDFC(down 1.17%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.02%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.01%), Coal India(down 0.88%), Axis Bank(down 0.85%), Wipro(down 0.77%), UPL Ltd(down 0.64%) and Eicher Motors(down 0.6%) closed in the red.
