Dr George T Haokip pays tribute to tribal martyrs

CCpur, December 09 2021: Dr George T Haokip, intending candidate of 59-Saikot (ST) Assembly Constituency on Thursday accompanied by his Shining Saikot team paid homage to late Khaizamamg Touthang at Bjijang cemetery.
Dr George T Haokip also visited Tribal Martyrs Memorial Park to pay tribute to the nine departed souls.
Speaking to media persons, Dr George said, "Manipur is a small state, valley and hills both must unite or we will all perish" .
Stating that tribal rights and privileges have been denied many times, Dr George said "Only equal development and tolerance to each other will bring prosperity in the State".
"Neoliberal policy is a common threat, all the people must unite to save the future of Manipur", he asserted.

It may be mentioned that on August 31, 2015 when the three bills- Protection of Manipur People's Bill, 2015, the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2015, and the Manipur Shops and Establishments (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015 were passed in the State Assembly, Churachandpur remained the epicenter of protest against the bills.
Nine people died by alleged police firing and for months the district was under bandh and public agitation.
The agitation was spearheaded by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) Against Anti-Tribal.
