Michael Nesmith has sadly died.
The singer and guitarist of The Monkees passed away on Friday (December 10) due to natural causes at the age of 78, his family confirmed, via Deadline.

“With Infinite Love we announce that Michael Nesmith has passed away this morning in his home, surrounded by family, peacefully and of natural causes. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time and we thank you for the love and light that all of you have shown him and us,” they said in a statement.
The pop-rock group was originally conceived by TV producers for a comedy series, which aired from 1966 to 1968, and the group went on to continue to have success for years with hits like “I’m a Believer,” “Daydream Believer” and “Last Train to Clarksville.” They sold more than 75 million records worldwide, making them one of the biggest bands of all time.
