Khashim Vashum inaugurates Raphei Gate-II at Halang village

Ukhrul, December 08 2021: 45-Chingai AC MLA, Khashim Vashum on Wednesday inaugurated Raphei Gate-II at Halang village in the presence of ex-ADC members, headman, chairmen, pastors, women and youth leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Khashim Vashum stressed on the relevance of gate erection in context of Tangkhul traditional custom.
"It symbolizes our lifestyle and is considered as sacred in our traditional belief", he asserted.
The MLA appealed to the citizens of Raphei villages to uphold and maintain the same spirit of the forefathers and not to tarnish the good image or create rift for vested political interest during election time.
He also called for free and fair elections to bring peace in the Raphei region.

Khashim Vashum also informed that the hostel construction in Peh is in progress while the construction work of hostel projects in Paocham High school and Jessami High school will begin soon.
Ramnganing, president Tangkhul Naga Wungnaolong (TNWL) expressed his appreciation to the MLA and stated that Khashim Vashum is among the few Tangkhul leaders who listens to the grievances of the people and acts on it.
As part of the programme, Wungmaling Huileng feted the MLA while Rev Ephraim Shaiza, Pastor Halang Baptist Church invoked blessing.
It may be mentioned that the road passing through Raphei Gate-II is vital for Raphei villages including Halang, Phungcham, Paorei, Varangngalai, Peh, Chingjaroi and some western villages.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by ex-Councillors, Lawrence, Paothing, Ngamsung; Ramreichan Keishing, vice president TKS; Dearson Chamroy, chairman TNAL; headmen, chairmen, religious leaders, women and youth leaders.
