UDHAGAMANDALAM: Group Captain Varun Singh, who is the lone survivor in a helicopter crash in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu and was under treatment in military hospital in Wellington, was airlifted to Bengaluru on Thursday for higher treatment.
Commandant of the Madras Regimental Centre Brigadier Rajeshwar Singh told TOI, “Group captain Varun Singh is shifted to Bengaluru for higher treatment.”
Hospital sources said his vital parts were functioning well.
The IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter carrying 14 people crashed at Kattery near Coonoor on Wednesday claiming 13 lives including those of Chief of the Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and his wife.
