Time has come for people to vote freely: Haokholet Kipgen

Kangpokpi, December 07 2021: Former Minister Haokholet Kipgen has said that the time has come for the people to enjoy the festival of election and exercise their voting rights free from any interference.
The former Minister was speaking at a one day workers consultative meeting held at Hengbung which was attended by more than 500 village chiefs and various community leaders.
Speaking at the programme, Haokholet Kipgen said he will be contesting the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election slated to be held at early part of next year from Saitu AC.
'I am 99.99 percent confident of getting the BJP ticket,' he added.
Lauding the efforts of the current BJP led Government under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh for working towards the development of the hill districts and for the restoration of the environmental balance in the hills, Haokholet Kipgen appealed the people of the hill districts and their representatives to work towards preserving and protecting the environment.

He also alleged that a number of representatives elected by the people from the constituencies in the hill districts have forgotten their role as an elected member and only interested in accumulating wealth for their personal gains.
