TPR lowest in 8 months

Imphal, December 07 2021: Day after a slight spike in the daily test positivity rate, Tuesday reported 17 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1474 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus registering a positivity rate of 1.15 per cent, which is lowest in eight months.
At the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic, the daily TPR was below 1 per cent till April 6 but rose to 1.36 per cent from the next day after which the rate grew gradually.
Meanwhile, Tuesday reported no death case and the fatality tally remains at 1985.The active caseload came down to 330 out of which 57 (17.27 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only four reported fresh Covid cases on Tuesday with Imphal West recording highest cases at 8.In terms of positivity rate, Chandel district registered highest single day positivity rate at 4.7 per cent while Bishnupur and Imphal East districts recorded lowest positivity rate at 1.5 per cent.
So far, the state has recorded 96,006 positive cases and 1611 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 201 new cases and 8 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
A total of 201 new positive cases and eight fatalities have been reported during the current month.
According to official reports, all the 17 new positive cases (8 male & 9 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (11).The positive cases are from Imphal East (5) .
Imphal West (8), Bishnupur (2) and Chandel (2) .
In the last 24 hours, 28 patients were discharged from home isolation (10), JNIMS (4) and CCCs (14) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,406 (general population - 1,20,973 and CAPF personnel - 4,433).Number of recovered cases is 123,091 (general population - 1,18,671 and CAPF personnel - 4,420) and number of active cases is 330 (general population - 322 and CAPF personnel - 8).The recovery rate is 98.15 per cent.
A total of 530 D-type and 260 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5455 vaccine doses were administered on Monday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,92,766 out of which 9,08,633 are fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,962), Imphal East (27,849), Thoubal (9481), Churachandpur (10186), Kangpokpi (2787), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9219), Senapati (2247), Ukhrul (2997), Kakching (6441), Chandel (2361), Noney (1074), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955), and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (664), Imphal East (476), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,414 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,760 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,60,738 tests per million population against the national average of 4,64,095 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1474 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.15 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.77 per cent.
