Junior doctors call off strike, to resume duties from today

HYDERABAD: The Junior Doctors’ Association (JUDA) called off its five-day long strike on Tuesday. The junior doctors will be attending regular duties from Wednesday onwards, said a release.

The junior doctors withdrew their strike in the wake of the growing number of Covid-19 cases in the state. They said they would continue their support to the NEET-PG aspirants, for whom this protest was started. The Junior doctors’ fraternity boycotted services from last Friday, as there was a prolonged delay in the NEET-PG seat allotment.

 

A total of 5,500 aspirants from the state, who have qualified for NEET-PG, and have been waiting for counselling  in Telangana since the matter is in the court on EWS’s reservation, and the verdict is scheduled on 6 January 2022. Doctors all over India staged protests, demanding that the government take this matter into a fast track court, so that the decision is sooner.
