Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 21.07 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 8.03 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 4.15 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 3.68 crore), GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 2.30 crore), SAIL(number of shares traded: 2.02 crore), RattanIndia Power (number of shares traded: 1.95 crore), ICICI Bank(number of shares traded: 1.80 crore), HFCL(number of shares traded: 1.75 crore) and NALCO(number of shares traded: 1.41 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:05AM in Wednesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 245.3 points up at 17422.0, while BSE Sensex was up 861.48 points at 58495.13 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 2.97 per cent), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 2.95 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 2.75 per cent), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 2.33 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 2.14 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.17 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.12 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.12 per cent), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.07 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.09 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
