Stock market update: Power stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:34AM

Energy Development Company(up 4.86%), Indowind Energy(up 4.81%), Alstom T&D India(up 4.24%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.16%), RTNPOWER(up 3.80%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 3.56%), Inox wind(up 2.95%), Adani Transmissions(up 1.69%), KEC International(up 1.54%) and NHPC(up 1.23%) were among the top gainers.

DPSC(down 6.09%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.93%), JSW Energy(down 3.74%), ABBPP&SLTD(down 2.23%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.31%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 1.16%), Adani Power(down 1.04%), NTPC(down 0.83%), Reliance Power(down 0.79%) and Tata Power Company(down 0.73%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 62.95 points down at 17133.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 212.33 points at 57484.13 at around 10:34AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 1.34%), JSW Steel(up 1.19%), ICICI Bank(up 1.02%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.81%), Tata Steel(up 0.72%), HDFC(up 0.62%), State Bank of India(up 0.59%), Axis Bank(up 0.33%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.24%) and UPL Ltd(up 0.2%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Coal India(down 5.38%), HCL Technologies(down 2.13%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.85%), Infosys(down 1.53%), Asian Paints(down 1.43%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.43%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.38%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.31%), Tata Motors(down 1.29%) and Wipro(down 1.24%) were trading in the red.
