Energy Development Company(up 4.86%), Indowind Energy(up 4.81%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.71%), RTNPOWER(up 3.80%), Karma Energy(up 2.81%), Alstom T&D India(up 2.63%), NHPC(up 2.61%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 2.16%), Adani Transmissions(up 0.31%) and SJVN(up 0.18%) stood among the top gainers.
DPSC(down 9.59%), Inox wind(down 5.15%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.93%), K.P.I. Global Infras(down 4.31%), ABBPP&SLTD(down 3.96%), JSW Energy(down 3.84%), Voltamp Transformers(down 2.40%), Tata Power Company(down 2.11%), NTPC(down 2.09%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.99%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 284.45 points down at 16912.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 949.32 points at 56747.14.
UPL Ltd(up 0.53%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Coal India(down 7.01%), IndusInd Bank(down 3.73%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 3.45%), Bajaj Finserv(down 3.4%), HCL Technologies(down 2.98%), Bharti Airtel(down 2.89%), Tata Consultancy(down 2.86%), Tata Motors(down 2.69%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.61%) and Wipro(down 2.54%) closed in the red.
