Liquor worth Rs 2 lakh seized

Imphal, December 04 2021: The Coalition Against Drugs & Alco- hol (CADA) has seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 2,00,000 from Soibam Leikai Meri Leirak and disposed of the same, today.

The liquor was seized from one Ningombam Binoy Singh (40), according to a statement issued by CADA.

The seized liquor included Signature Premier full (2 bottles), Signature full (3 bottles), Sterling Reserve full (7 bottles), AC Black full (2 bottles), AC Blue full (8 bottles), Royal Stag full (3 bottles), McDowell full (5 bottles), Royal Green full (1 bottle), Old Monk full (2 bottles), Blenders Pride full (3 bottles), Carlo Rosie full (7 bottles), Magic Moment full (3 bottles), B & G Red Wine (1 bottle), McDowell half (30 bottles), McDowell quarter (10 bottles), OC Blue half (15 bottles), AC Blue half (4 bottles), Old Monk half (9 bottles), Old Monk quarter (2 bottles), Blenders Pride half (10 bottles), Soju half (30 bottles), Diablo beer (208 bottles), Tuborg beer (92 bottles), Kingfisher beer (16 bottles), Corona Extra beer (15 bottles), Knox beer (19 bottles), Savage beer (24 bottles) and Breezer beer (5 bottles).

CADA said that the rate of alcohol abuse is increasing as the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election approaches.

It condemned the State Government for not taking any concrete actions to curb selling and consumption of liquor.
