THANE: A history sheeter involved majorly in stealing and selling auto rickshaws in Mumbai metropolitan region was arrested by the crime branch, police informed Sunday.
According to senior inspector
Vikas Ghodke, crime branch Wagle unit-5, they were tipped off about the accused, identified as
Sanu Khan aka
Lal Badshah, trying to sell off two newly stolen autos, Saturday afternoon. The autos were apparently stolen from Thane and
Mira-Bhayender and the accused was looking for customers when the police swooped on him.
“The accused is a history sheeter with several cases of vehicle thefts against him. We were alerted of the accused having parked two autos near a residential complex in Hazuri area of Thane. We laid a trap and arrested him and also seized the vehicles,” said Ghodke through a press statement issued by the Thane police.
A case has been registered at the Wagle estate police station that is now probing his involvement in previous cases.
