NAGAON, Dec 4: One notorious arms dealer identified as Songousuan Ngaihte hailing from Supermarket Dimapur in Nagaland was arrested at Nagaon Borghat bypass Chariali on Saturday afternoon here. Police subsequently seized one .32 factory made sophisticated pistol, magazine, a scooty and a mobile phone from his possession, sources added.

Sources claimed that a police team led by DSP Tridip Kumbang launched a Naka checking at Nagaon Borghat bypass Chariali. During the checking, police intercepted a Honda Activa scooty bearing registration number NL-07-EB-1471 and found that the rider was carrying illegal sophisticated arms. Police immediately arrested him along with the arms and his scooty.

During immediate interrogation, police confirmed that he was nothing but a notorious arms dealer of Dimapur in Nagaland and was on the way to deliver the arms to someone else here, sources said adding further that he was arrested earlier in 2020 by Karbi Anglong district police in connection with illegal arms dealing and was released from jail around January or February this year.
