MADIKERI: Eleven students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kodagu Vidyalaya in Madikeri, Kodagu, tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday. All are asymptomatic and have been isolated. The cluster came to light after a pupil of class 8 tested positive on November 27. Another student, also from the same class, tested positive two days later. The school management then got all the students of the class to undergo the test, and nine more were found to be infected. Dr Venkatesh, district health officer, said all students of the school from classes 6 to 10 are now being tested. As on Thursday, Kodagu had 90 active cases and a positivity rate of 0.6%. Earlier this week, two primary section students from St Joseph’s Convent in Madikeri had tested positive.
