One dies, active cases dip to 366

Imphal, December 03 2021: As the fear of Omicron variant gradually spreads across the country, the state on Friday reported one death case and 28 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1794 samples tested, registering a daily positivity rate of 1.56 per cent against 2.24 per cent recorded on Thursday.
The lone death case was an unvaccinated resident of Thoubal district and it which took the total number of fatalities to 1980 .
Meanwhile, the active caseload declined to 366 after a large chunk of the active cases was reported as discharged cases pending for reporting on Thursday.
Out of the active caseload only 49 (13.39 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only five reported fresh Covid cases on Friday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 17.In terms of positivity rate, Churachandpur district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 5.7 per cent while Thoubal district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.8 per cent.
So far, the state has recorded 95,897 positive cases and 1606 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 199 new cases and 12 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
In all, 92 new positive cases and three fatalities have been reported during the current month.
According to official reports, all the 28 new positive cases (12 male & 16 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (24) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (5), Imphal West (17), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2) and Churachandpur (3).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 45 patients were discharged from home isolation (4), RIMS (2), JMMS (13) and CCCs (26) .
At the same time, 279 already discharged patients are also on Friday's list and as such the total numberof recovered cases is considered as 324 after reconciliation of the reports.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,297 (general population -1,20,866 and CAPF personnel - 4,431) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,951 (general population - 1,18,579 and CAPF personnel - 4,372) and number of active cases is 366 (general population - 312 and CAPF personnel - 54) .
The recovery rate is 98.13 per cent.
A total of 488 D-type and 67 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 7588 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,86,251 out of which 8,89,566 are fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,914), Imphal East (27,814), Thoubal (9479), Churachandpur (10,186), Kangpokpi (2787), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9208), Senapati (2243), Ukhrul (2996), Kakching (6438), Chandel (2356), Noney (1074), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (662), Imphal East (473), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192)", Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tenghoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,379 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,739 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,58,926 tests per million population against the national average of 4,60,729 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1794 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.56 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.80 per cent.
