Dell Technologies bags a contract with eHealth Queensland, the information technology support service for Queensland Health, to provide the state’s sixteen hospital and health services including workers in the Department of Health with PCs, tablets, notebooks, workstations, all-in-ones, rugged devices, and monitors.

The deal comes timely as Queensland Health standardises its tech service.

The equipment will support over 90,000 healthcare employees to render service to a population of more than five million.

Dell Technologies says the contract is under Queensland Education’s DET SOA 84891 (Category One – Supply and Support of ICT Hardware) and one of the largest commercial client deals for the company in Australia.

The company’s capability to supply and support was a key factor on why it was chosen for the tender.

More than half (55%) of Queensland’s population live in remote areas, covering 1.853 million km².

Consequently, Queensland Health has a broad reach into sometimes sparsely populated areas, and its staff need devices that enable them to work productively from anywhere. The ability to service or replace faulty devices with minimal disruption, no matter where the devices are located, was important in winning the tender, Dell Technologies says.

In addition, Dell Technologies has provided a device build facility located in Australia for asset tagging and custom configurations that could match eHealth’s security requirements at the highest level.

Under the program, Dell Technologies has already deployed the devices to facilitate Queensland Health to set up vaccine hubs for the state’s COVID-19 vaccine roll out.

“With our focus on transforming lives through the power of technology, coupled with a flexible supply chain to ensure consistent delivery, and strong regional support, I’m proud that Dell Technologies can assist eHealth in its mission to deliver proactive and flexible services for all Queenslanders,” concludes Dell Technologies senior vice president and managing director Angela Fox.
