One death, 33 new positive cases reported

Imphal, December 02 2021: The state on Thursday reported one death case and 33 fresh cases of Covid-19 out of 1476 samples tested, registering a daily positivity rate of 2.24 per cent, which is nearly 1 per cent jump from Wednesday's 1.61 per cent.
The lone death case was an unvaccinated resident of Imphal East With this, the total tally of fatalities from Covid-19 in the state has reached 1979.The active caseload has risen to 663 out of which only 47 (7.09 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported fresh Covid cases on Thursday with Imphal East reporting highest cases at 14 .
In terms of positivity rate too, Imphal East district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 4.7 per cent while Senapati district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.8 per cent.
Chandel, Jiribam, Kakching, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Tamenglong, Teng-noupal and Thoubal districts did not report any new positive cases.
So far, the state has recorded 95,869 positive cases and 1605 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 199 new cases and 13 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone According to official reports, all the 33 new positive cases (20 male & 13 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at other testing centres (33) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (14), Imphal West (13), Bishnupur (3), Churachandpur (1), Senapati (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing arein place.
In the last 24 hours, 28 patients were discharged from home isolation (7), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (13) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,269 (general population -1,20,838 and CAPF personnel - 4,431) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,627 (general population - 1,18,265 and CAPF personnel - 4,362) and number of active cases is 663 (general population - 559 and CAPF personnel - 64) .
The recovery rate is 97.89 per cent.
A total of 754 D-type and 212 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 8321 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,84,653 including 8,83,532 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,897), ImphalEast (27,809), Thoubal (9478), Churachandpur (10,183), Kangpokpi (2787), Tamenglong (328,4), Bishnupur (9206), Senapati (2243), Ukhrul (2996), Kakching (6438), Chandel (2356), Noney (1074), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (662), Imphal East (473), Thoubal (177), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,370 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,733 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,58,348 tests per million population against the national average of 4,59,914 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1476 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.24 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.81 per cent.
