Global Infras(up 4.99%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.94%), Indowind Energy(up 4.79%), Energy Development Company(up 4.79%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.69%), NTL(up 4.65%), RTNPOWER(up 3.95%) and ADANIGREEN(up 3.58%) stood among the top gainers.
DPSC(down 4.41%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 3.92%), Reliance Power(down 3.45%), ABBPP&SLTD(down 3.21%), Alstom T&D India(down 1.95%), PIGL(down 1.88%), NTPC(down 1.32%), Adani Power(down 0.93%), Adani Transmissions(down 0.90%) and Suzlon Energy(down 0.71%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 204.95 points down at 17196.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 764.83 points at 57696.46.
UPL Ltd(up 2.08%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.86%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.32%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 1.28%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.67%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.59%), Tata Steel(up 0.5%), Coal India(up 0.28%), Tata Motors(up 0.21%) and Eicher Motors(up 0.16%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 3.92%), Reliance Industries(down 3.0%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.55%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.23%), Asian Paints(down 2.21%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 2.03%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.94%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.89%), SBI Life(down 1.86%) and Hindalco Industries(down 1.72%) closed in the red.
