Getty ImagesNEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Ramco Systems(19.99%), Starlit Power Sys.(19.96%), Amrapali Capital & (19.95%), Walchandngr Ind(18.8%), Avonmore Capital & (17.42%), Medicamen Bio(16.65%), Neogen Chemicals(16.45%), Vanta Bioscience(15.45%) and Orient Abrasive(15.17%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 764.83 points down at 57696.46, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 204.95 points down at 17196.7.
In the Nifty50 index, 12 stocks closed in the green, while 38 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Amrapali Capital &, Avonmore Capital &, Neogen Chemicals, IFL Enterprises and Vodafone Idea hit their fresh 52-week high, while Trescon, Emergent Global Edu, Stephanotis Finance, Sparkling(India)and Max Alert Systems Ltd. touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
