New elevated road to be built to ease traffic at Polytechnic & Munshipulia in Lucknow

In a bid to help ease the traffic woes at the Munshipulia and Polytechnic intersections, the National Highway Division of the PWD will build a new elevated road. This road will help reduce the traffic load at these intersections and hence prevent jams. Approximately ₹170 crores will be spent on this project, which has been approved by the Union Ministry of Road Transport.

New road to connect Ring Road to Polytechnic flyover

The proposed 4-lane road will be about 1800 meters long and will start from Ring Road. It will directly connect to the Polytechnic Intersection flyover. For this purpose, it will be elevated on pillars and built under the metro line. This way, traffic on the Sitapur Highway can be directly passed over to the Ayodhya Highway, without having to enter either intersection.

Construction work to start soon

Superintending Engineer Dharamveer Singh said that the project has been given a green singal by the Ministry and is now awaiting budget allocation. As soon as the budget is received, the tender process will start, and construction will follow.
