Bpr/Ccp/Jbm/Spi/Thb, December 01 2021: As observed across the Globe, World AIDS Day was also observed in the State on Wednesday with the theme "End inequalities, End AIDS, End pandemic" .
BISHNUPUR
World AIDS Day was observed in Bishnupur district by District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee (DAPCC) Bishnupur at Ningthoukhong Higher Secondary School, Ningthoukhong.
It was attended by DC Bishnupur, Ranjan Yumnam; CMO Bishnupur, Dr L Raichandra Singh; District TB Officer Bishnupur, Dr S Brojen Singh and Ningthoukhong Higher Secondary School Lecturer, S Usharani Devi as presidium members.
CHURACHANDPUR
World AIDS Day observation in Churachandpur on Wednesday doubled up in taking the message that every vote counts in the country, besides the need to prevent the infectious disease as the SVEEP campaign theme 'No One Be Left Behind' donned the event.
The World AIDS Day observed at Synod Hall, IB Road, CCpur was attended by DC Pawan Yadav along with Dr VC Pau Tonsing, CMO Churachandpur.
During the programme, district Nodal Officer SVEEP, H Doungel spoke on Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).
It was also attended by Additional DC, Khaikhopau Ngaihte; officials from DAPCU Churachandpur and the district election office among others.

JIRIBAM
Child Welfare Ashram also observed World AIDS Day at the Conference Hall of Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) in Bapupara.
It was attended by E Okendro Singh, CMO Jiribam; Th Borot Singh, Senior Medical Officer, Jiribam; RK Bijoysana Singh, secretary Child Welfare Ashram and Md Rijawul Karim, C/F Helping Hand for Social Upliftment as presidium members.
During the programme, one minute silence was observed to pay respect to all who have died of the disease.
SENAPATI
World AIDS Day was also celebrated in Senapati by the NSS, YRC and Red Ribbon Club of DBC Maram.
The NSS volunteers through their dramatic performance spread awareness on AIDS to the youths of the college.
Through the powerful skit, they communicated that AIDS is a medical condition caused by HIV that sabotages the immune system of a person, making it vulnerable to infections.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Fr KO Sebastian, Principal of the college elaborated on HIV transmission, prevention and treatment.
He also mentioned that it is an opportunity for every community to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV and remember those who have died.
Fr Shilanad SDB, vice principal, appreciated the NSS volunteers for their influential performance and urged the students to follow a healthy lifestyle.
THOUBAL
DAPCC Thoubal also observed World AIDS Day at Fancier Higher Secondary School Thoubal.
It was attended by DC Thoubal, A Subash; CMO Thoubal, Dr Y Nokul; CMO Kakching, Dr Th Rajen; District Hospital Thoubal MO, Dr Kh Radheshyam and Fancier Higher Secondary School Thoubal principal, O Ibohalbi as presidium members.
As part of the programme, Dr Y Nokul also flagged off a mass rally from Waikhom Mani Girls College.
Similarly, the NSS, IQAC and Students Union of Lilong Haoreibi College also observed World AIDS Day at the college's Multipurpose Hall.
It was attended by Dr L Sanahanbi Devi, HoD Zoology; E Bharot Singh, president College Teachers Association and W Nandini Devi, HoD English as presidium members.
Dr Sidiquour Rahman, Economics Department; Dr N Bino Devi, Home Science Department; Md Shahid Khan, Zoology Department and Md Shahid Khan, Zoology Department also attended the event as resource persons.
Later, an interactive session was also conducted between the resource persons and students of the college.
