Just before the Covid pandemic struck Australia in early 2020, Finn confirmed he was recording new music for Crowded House with founding band member and bass guitarist Nick Seymour.

The duo were joined by Finn's sons Liam and Elroy Finn, who are also musicians, and keyboardist Mitchell Froom.

The band's Australian tour for their latest album was originally scheduled for 2020, but was soon shifted to 2021. It was then later moved again to 2022.
