Pollution is an issue that needs to be addressed not just in Delhi or Mumbai, but in every metropolitan city of our country. Pollution checking should be compulsory and instead of petrol, there should be more vehicles running on gas. To prevent air pollution, checks should be in place and more trees need to be planted.

Pollution has been a problem since many years. Today, one family has multiple vehicles but they should try and use car-pool system instead. People should avoid using plastic bags and burning stuff that causes pollution. Rules have to be made stricter.

I make a genuine and conscious effort of not encouraging anyone around me to litter or spit. I make sure I get my car checked for pollution at regular intervals. Also, more vehicles that are more fuel-efficient should be used.

There are two kinds of pollution, one is outward which we observe on December 2, and the other one is inward, where the mind is polluted! The second one is more dangerous than the first one. Celebs should support clean-up drives, as people take things seriously when they see a celeb doing them.

I am a vegan. Adopting a vegan diet decreases air pollution by saving carbon dioxide emissions. According to the Veganism Impact Report, the world would see a 70 per cent decrease in carbon-dioxide food-related emissions if the current meat-eating population were to go vegan! I also use the kitchen waste to make manure for the plants in my home garden. Small changes in lifestyle could contribute in a big way for the betterment of our planet.

Recycle & reuse: Sagar Parekh

To control pollution, I believe in a few things that I have been following since my childhood, which my teacher taught me. I think using public transport is a very good option though my work doesn’t allow me because timings are different and difficult, but people must use it. I save electricity by not leaving the fans and lights switched on unnecessarily. I believe in recycling and reuse, as it is helpful in reducing pollution.
