Jon Jones launches extraordinary rant at 'miserable b*****d' Mike Winkeljohn after former coach banned him from the gym for September arrest... with UFC star asking: 'If I am such a monster, why is there a poster of me on every wall of the building?'

  • Jon Jones was arrested in September for alleged misdemeanor battery domestic violence, felony injuring and tampering with a vehicle
  • UFC star was subsequently banned from his gym by coach Mike Winkeljohn
  • Jones went on a rant about Winkeljohn and called him a 'miserable b******'
  • He claims the coach does not care about him and went public for clout

Jon Jones has gone on an extraordinary rant directed at his former coach Mike Winkeljohn, who banned him from the gym.

Winkeljohn made the decision to prevent the long-time former UFC light-heavyweight champion from training at JacksonWink MMA after the fighter was arrested for alleged battery domestic violence, felony injuring and tampering with a vehicle.

The night of his arrest back in Las Vegas in September came shortly after being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame and the 34-year-old was alleged to have had a physical altercation with his fiancee, Jessie Moses, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Winkeljohn then explained his decision to ban Jones from the gym, telling the MMA Hour: 'There’s definitely no doubt about it. It’s one of the toughest ones.

'It broke my heart that I was even put in that position where I felt I had to do it. But it’s OK. It’s OK. What’s important to me might not be what’s important to others.

'I will stick by my guns and stay true to the guy that I want to be.

'Even if he doesn’t come back to the gym, I’m OK with it. In my own heart, I know that he might go on to win the heavyweight title. I’ll take myself out of a little bit of money. Whatever. That’s just not where my values are at right now.'

Jones is clearly furious with Winkeljohn and aimed his Twitter tirade at the man who stood by his side during all those successful years in the octagon.

He wrote: 'Coach Wink goes on national TV and says he wants the best for me, and then behind the scenes harassing the other coaches for continuing to work with me. Miserable bas****.'

'I didn't leave the gym because I couldn't handle punishment, I left the gym because I wasn't training with anymore anyways. This man hasn't taught students a new technique since I met him.

'What type of friend gets on TV and airs his 'brother's' dirty laundry. This was his opportunity to take the moral high ground over someone who trust in him. He didn't give two s**** about what actually happened that night. Anything for some publicity.

'If I was such a monster, he wouldn't still be trying to monetize off me being a former student there. There's a Jon Jones poster on almost every wall of the building.

'Wink suspending me from the team changed absolutely nothing for me. I'm still working with the exact same coaches on the same schedule we have been on for the last two years.

'Just don't go on TV and pretend to give a s*** about someone, who has made you so much money over the years, giving you so many world championships and then behind closed doors secretly try to crush them. Real douche move Mike.

'Mike the other coaches are not employed by you, they literally work out of your building. You tax them on their flights, I'm trying to put money in these men's pocket.

'You trying to tell them who they can and cannot work with outside of your building is bizarre.'

Jones has previously had numerous high profile issues outside of the cage.

In 2012 he had a misdemeanor DWI charge for crashing his car into a pole in New York. In 2015, he was involved in a hit-and-run that left a pregnant woman injured and ended up with the UFC stripping him of his title.

He was not sentenced to any jail time but had 18 months of supervised probation.

Four years later, Jones pleaded no contest to a battery charge for allegedly choking a waitress at a strip club, slapping and kissing her after she had told him to stop,

And in March last year, he was arrested in the early hours for driving under the influence, negligent use of a firearm, possession of an open container, and no proof of insurance.

Jones vacated his light-heavyweight title last year and has since worked on bulking up to move to heavyweight. He was given a 90-day deferred sentence for the incident.

He is still yet to have a fight and fell out with the UFC over potential pay for a massive encounter with Francis Ngannou.

'Bones' will have been out of action for two years in February and it remains to be seen when he will enter the octagon again.
