Panchkula, December 1

Amid concerns over the new Covid-19 variant, Omicron, Deputy Commissioner Mahavir Kaushik today announced strengthening of Covid measures and reviewed arrangements for an anticipated third wave of the pandemic.

He was presiding over a meeting of the Covid monitoring committee at the Mini-Secretariat to stem the spread of the virus.

Kaushik instructed the police, the MC and all incident commanders to strictly challan people found without a mask in public space and ensure implementation of Covid-appropriate behaviour in crowded places like bus stand and markets.

It has been decided to set up a Covid care centre at Nirankari Satsang Bhavan in Sector 9 for better care of new patients. The centre can accommodate up to 50 patients.
