Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:55AM

Ashapura Minechem(up 5.62%), Pokarna(up 4.06%), Oriental Trimex(up 1.66%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.93%), KIOCL(up 0.88%), Coal India(up 0.64%), Aro Granite Industries(up 0.53%), 20 Microns(up 0.51%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.39%) and Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.23%) were among the top gainers.

NMDC Ltd(down 0.22%) and MOIL(down 0.06%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 103.1 points up at 17270.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 356.63 points at 58041.42 at around 10:55AM.

Power Grid Corporation of India(up 3.33%), HDFC(up 3.04%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.3%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.17%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 1.74%), Grasim Industries(up 1.57%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.34%), Asian Paints(up 1.3%), Britannia Industries(up 1.22%) and Shree Cement(up 1.09%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro(down 0.97%), ICICI Bank(down 0.97%), Axis Bank(down 0.9%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.55%), Tata Steel(down 0.52%), Cipla(down 0.51%), Tata Motors(down 0.42%), JSW Steel(down 0.36%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.28%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.15%) were trading in the red.
