A delusional man accused of assaulting eight people including a baby on a train was filmed making violent threats to passengers moments after the alleged attack.

The 28-year-old man was taken away in handcuffs from the Northgate train station, in Brisbane, at about 4pm on Sunday.

When police officers arrived, they found multiple commuters had suffered non-life threatening injuries with the eldest victim being a 78-year-old woman.

The man was taken to the Brisbane Watchhouse where he then allegedly assaulted two police officers before being taken to hospital to be sedated.

Shocking footage has now emerged of the aftermath and shows the man screaming abuse at passengers who stepped in before threatening to 'throw a grenade'.

'I'm going to chuck a grenade amongst you, so build a f**king circle ... coz the grenade's going in the middle and it's gonna boom,' he is heard saying.

'Sort it the f**k out! Hurry up or I'm going to f**king drag you all in a spot you d***kheads and I'll just shoot you.

'The rocket launcher is coming down the other end d***kheads.'

The 28-year-old then broke into a song chanting 'you (expletive) need to die bang bang' as passengers around him tried to calm him down.

Eventually a team of police officers arrived and tried to handcuff the man who pointed a finger gun at them and repeatedly shouted 'bang you're dead'.

He was then dragged down the platform in handcuffs and shouted 'love youse' to the passengers he had just allegedly assaulted.

Earlier on in the video a train worker was seen trying to calm down the man as they waited for police to arrive.

'You can't be doing that, you hit a little baby, what's that about?' the staff member asks him.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the man is still receiving treatment for a medical condition. Charges are yet to be laid.

A spokesperson for Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed the little baby was taken to hospital in a stable condition for minor facial injuries.

One witness who was on the train told Daily Mail Australia the scene was confronting for everyone in the carriage.

'He sat close to me on the train and started rambling to me which I couldn't understand and then he started swearing at other passengers,' he said.

'Then said he was going to hurt people with a "grenade", he only had a bum bag so I could tell that was a lie.'

The witness said the man then started pretending to shoot people with his fingers before he started pacing up and down the train aisle.

'At this stage a few passengers moved to another carriage and that's when he started punching people randomly,' he said.

'An elderly lady got punched and a mother who was nursing a baby got kicked by him.

'He then went the other way rambling on about rocket launchers and things like that, so I pressed the emergency button to tell (train staff) to call the cops and that's when they locked us in the train.'

The passenger said the older lady had a 'decent sized bump' on her head but didn't believe she was concussed.

'The baby had blood on her face but I'm not sure of the outcome of that but an ambulance was on the way,' he added.
