DPSC(up 9.32%), Indowind Energy(up 4.99%), JSW Energy(up 4.99%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 4.68%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.64%), Suzlon Energy(up 4.38%), RTNPOWER(up 4.29%), Tata Power Company(up 3.87%), K.P.I. Global Infras(up 3.87%) and ADANIGREEN(up 2.56%) stood among the top gainers.
Energy Development Company(down 4.78%), PIGL(down 4.44%), Karma Energy(down 3.45%), NTL(down 2.38%), Reliance Power(down 1.94%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.11%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 0.94%), CESC(down 0.74%), PTC India(down 0.18%) and Torrent Power(down 0.15%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 183.7 points up at 17166.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 619.92 points at 57684.79.
IndusInd Bank(up 5.74%), JSW Steel(up 4.73%), Axis Bank(up 3.65%), Tata Motors(up 3.63%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 3.52%), State Bank of India(up 3.2%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.99%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.94%), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.91%) and Eicher Motors(up 2.86%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 4.44%), Divis Laboratories(down 2.59%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.5%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.49%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.09%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 1.05%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.82%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.74%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.64%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.44%) closed in the red.
