Bachelor in Paradise star Alex McKay welcomes a daughter with partner Michelle Nicholas - but is forced to defend their decision to have a 'risky' home birth
Former Bachelor in Paradise star Alex McKay announced the arrival of his first child, daughter Della Mac Mckay, on Sunday.
He shared a photo on Instagram of his partner Michelle Nicholas cradling their baby girl, and explained in the caption she'd been through two days of labour at home without medical 'interference'.
'A lengthy labour over two sleepless nights with no painkillers or interference, just trusting her body and baby managed to stay mentally and physically strong enough to give birth in our own home,' he said.

He added: 'The most inspiring and resilient thing I will ever see in my life! I will be in a lifetime of debt to you, Mich. You are already showing how empowering women can be with their bodies to our baby girl. Love you to the moon!'

However, some fans questioned the couple's decision to have a home birth, with one follower saying it was a 'risky' option.
