Imphal, November 28 2021: School and college examinations as well as recruitment examinations in Manipur are general conducted in three hours' time but state's education (S) department conducted written examination for recruitment of 291 posts of office assistant for four and half hours without any break, thereby making it the longest ever recruitment examination of the state.
As per some candidates, who took part in the written examination conducted at 16 schools and colleges of Imphal West and Imphal East districts as examination centres, the written examination for the recruitment participated by around 5000 candidates started from 10am and continued till 2.30 pm without any break.
The examination based on general English and current affairs should have been conducted in two phases but the department decided to complete it in a single phase thereby causing immense hardship and inconvenience to the candidates.
It was very surprising that the education department conducted such a long recruitment examination despite knowing fully that sitting in the examination hall for 4.30 hours without any break is very difficult and tiresome.
