BELFAST, Maine — John Quirk Sr., who founded a group of dealerships in Bangor, Maine, that grew to multiple locations across the state, died Nov. 12 at 89. He began as a salesman at a dealership in Bangor in the early 1950s and rose to general manager. He started Quick Auto Group before opening Village Subaru with a partner in 1973. He retired in 2005 and a son took over the group, which sells Cadillac, Chevrolet, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai and Mitsubishi, among other brands.
