The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Fazilka, claimed to have recovered two hand grenades from the Ring Road in Bathinda on Sunday.

Sumitpal, incharge of the team involved in the operation, said following a tip-off, they laid a checkpoint on the Ring Road and intercepted two persons coming on a motorcycle.

Seeing the police, the suspects fled, leaving behind a bag. On search, the police recovered two hand grenades wrapped in a piece of cloth.

Sumitpal said the make of the hand grenade would be ascertained after getting these examined at the forensic science laboratory. Further investigations into the case were on, said the police.
