WMC seeks public support to ST movement

Imphal, November 26 2021: World Meetei Council (WMC) has appealed to the people for supporting the ST movement launched by the Council and other like-minded 16 organisations for the betterment of the future.

In a release, WMC chairman Heigrujam Nabashyam expressed resentment that some panellists in TV discussion programmes equated the movement for safeguard and survival of Meetei to festival of bandh-blockade.

He urged the people to bear the inconveniences till Saturday by considering the future of the people.

Informing that protest will be held at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on November 28, in Guwahati on 29 and Silchar on 30, Nabashyam said that further course of movement will be decided by WMC and its like-minded organisations from December after waiting to see the outcome of the assurances given by government and its leaders.
