Imphal, November 26 2021: United Committee Manipur (UCM) contended that the alarming spread of dengue cases in the surrounding areas of Moreh town, Tengnoupal district is due to the negligence of Malaria Department of Medical Directorate.
In a release, UCM described as very unfortunate that the officer responsible for controlling the dengue outbreak is not present at station.
The government must take disciplinary action against the officer.
The statement of state malaria officer that there are no funds when UCM representatives met the officer asking for organising public awareness, free mobile testing and other related works to contain the outbreak is also very irresponsible, it maintained.
UCM cautioned that Medical Directorate should bear the responsibility if any death occurs due to spread of dengue.
The government must take measures to control the dengue outbreak.
It must provide ambulance, fill-up the required manpower, provide free testing kit, etc, it further demanded.
