Our team of Apple experts have scoured the web all year round for the top deals, offers and discounts for the MacBook Pro - picking out the best money-off offers to save you time. Right now we are using this expertise to bring you the best Black Friday MacBook Pro deals.
We also have found number savings that aren't labeled as Black Friday. Just because money off deals aren't marked as Black Friday, doesn't mean they aren't great. Sometimes they are a lot better than Black Friday deals! In this article we also run through some tips and explain Apple's pricing structure, so that you can be sure you are getting the best discount available.
This article focuses on the MacBook Pro, but there are some great deals for the MacBook Air too. Black Friday 2021 deals
As we approach the last few months of the year and head into the pre-Christmas buying frenzy we expect to see more and more deals, starting with Black Friday on Friday 26 November.
If you are wondering whether Apple will discount anything for Black Friday, we have some bad news: Apple is, as usual, offering vouchers with qualifying sales for Black Friday, rather than discounting products. So you won't get money off your first Apple purchase, but you can get money off your second.
We tend to find that most resellers that do offer Black Friday deals on Apple products only do so for discontinued Apple products, rather than the ones Apple currently sells. But we see deals on even new products all year round though - so don't assume you can't get money off a new Apple product.
However, this year we are seeing some great deals on the new MacBook Pro models from UK dealer KRCS - who has discounts on the 13in, 14in and 16in MacBook Pro (as well as other Macs). Many of these products are actually out of stock, but KRCS is still selling them for the discounted price so it's definitely worth putting in an order.
Luckily there are other UK stockists who do have the M1 Pro MacBooks - and are discounting them (though not as much as KRCS and they aren't claiming these as Black Friday savings either) so if you'd prefer not to wait, try John Lewis, Laptops Direct, Currys and Amazon.
In the UK:
- Apple is offering a £80/$100/A$140 voucher with sales of the MacBook Air, 13in MacBook Pro or Mac mini. Visit Apple's Shopping Event here. Note this doesn't apply to the 14in or 16in MacBook Pro, but you could use the voucher to buy one!
- Amazon has the 14in MacBook Pro in stock and £100 off both the 1TB and 512GB models. Amazon is promising delivery by tomorrow. Amazon also has a good deal on the 13in MacBook Pro, get it for £1,159 (£140 off).
- Currys - also has £100 off, but it isn't available for delivery or collection right now. To get free next-day delivery use FREENEXTDAYDELIVERY code, get up to £150 off with trade-in, up to 5 months of Apple Music, Arcade and News+ for free.
- John Lewis - also has £100 off and it's in stock, you also get a free 2-year guarantee.
- Laptops Direct has nearly £200 off the 16in MacBook Pro, and it's in stock.
- UK reseller KRCS is discounting the 14in MacBook Pro more than anyone else right now, but there is a wait. They say to order now to secure your stock as soon as it becomes available. For example you can get £259.90 off 16in MacBook Pro with M1 Pro, 10-core CPU/16-core GPU, 16GB RAM/1TB storage, RRP: £2,599, now £2,339.10. (In Stock). Get the KRCS deal here.

- Best Buy has a great saving on the older 16in MacBook Pro with i9. It was $2,799 but you can get it for $2,199.99, which is $600 off.

What you need to know
Before you buy the first thing you need to be aware of is that in October 2021 Apple updated the most powerful MacBook Pro models. There are now two new 14in MacBook Pro models, which replace the 13in models that were previously using Intel's 2.0GHz processors, and three new 16in MacBook Pro models. These new MacBook Pro models offer incredibly powerful M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. We are seeing discounts on these models, although they do seem to be selling out quickly. We are already seeing deals for the 14in MacBook Pro in the UK: As we mentioned above, KRCS has some great Black Friday deals - which makes the price even better than it usually is. Many of these are out of stock, but KRCS will honour the price quoted.

In the US:
- B&H has a good saving on the 256GB M1 MacBook Pro. Get it for $1,199.99 ($100 off) from B&H.

Best Refurbished deals
From time to time there are some excellent Apple Refurbished Store deals on the M1 Macs, they tend to quickly sell out. Check the links at Apple's selling M1 MacBook Pros with £230 off. Some of these were out of stock when we checked but we recommend you click through to check because Apple gets stock back in regularly.
- If you want to buy Space Grey 512GB version you may be able to buy it from Apple's refurbished store for £1,269 (£230 off) here. The Silver 512GB version is also £1,269 (£230 off) here (but was out of stock when we checked).
- The Space Grey, 256GB, 8‑Core CPU and 8‑Core GPU model is often available for £1,099 (£200 off) from Apple's refurbished store here (also out of stock when we checked). The Silver version of the 256GB model is sometimes £200 off here.
Although from time to time Apple drops the price of its MacBooks this is quite a rare occurrence: Apple never really offers discounts on its Mac laptops - other than through its official refurbished store.
For that reason you should pay a visit to the Apple Refurbished Store to see if you can find cut-price MacBook Pro models. These refurbished models are MacBook Pro laptops that were returned to Apple, perhaps due to a fault, but they are fully reconditioned now and come with a year's warranty.
We have seen Apple offering a refurbished 13in 1.4GHz MacBook Pro for £1,059, for example. This was the May 2020 model, which cost £1,299 before Apple replaced it with the M1 model. Buy it from Apple.
Alternatively a refurbished 2.4GHz MacBook Pro, which was originally released in May 2019 and has 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD, cost £1,359 on the Refurbished store. When Apple introduced that model it cost £1,799. Buy it from Apple.
Amazon also has a certified refurbished store for Apple products but we would advise against buying any products that are older than five years - most of the products we see on the Amazon refurbished store are unfortunately very old.

How to find a good MacBook Pro deal
If you want to be sure that you are finding the best deal we recommend that you read through all our advice below.
1. Beware of misleading retailers
Some retailers have been known to be misleading about RRP to make a deal look better than it is. Always compare to the current price on the Apple Store or, if it's an older model take a look at the Apple refurbished store (where Apple sells reconditioned, discontinued stock with a full year's warranty) to make sure you're getting good value.
2. Check how old it is
Speaking of which, you also want to be careful of the age of any given MacBook as models from different years might have similar looking specs on paper. For example, the processor speed can be misleading if you aren't sure what generation of processor is being used - so take care to double-check processor speeds and generation, and even model numbers to make sure you're not paying over the odds for a laptop from a few years ago.
3. Make sure that a newer model wouldn't be better
Another thing to consider if you find a deal on a old MacBook Pro that has been discontinued by Apple: it is important to know what changed when the model was eventually updated. You should note, for example, that when Apple updated the entry-level 13in MacBook Pro in early 2020, and the 16in in 2019, it made changes to the keyboard following a number of issues with the previous keyboard design. At the same time Apple also doubled storage. So beware that a deal on an older model may not be as good as it looks.
4. Find out how much if should cost
There are now three sizes of MacBook Pro: 13in, 14in and 16in. Before the end of 2019 there was also an 15in MacBook Pro, but Apple replaced that with the 16in model. You may still find the 15in model, and any of the discontinued models, available.
