A four-alarm tire tore through a Brooklyn apartment building, leaving six firefighters hurt and a dozen people homeless on Thanksgiving.
The three-story apartment building located at 65 Devoe Street in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood went up in flames around 11.15pm on Thursday.
Forty firefighting units and 170 personnel responded to the call.
The firefighters arrived to find the top floor of the building completely engulfed in flames, according to ABC 7.
After more than two and a half hours four apartments were gutted, leaving 12 residents homeless.

The rapidly-spreading flames grew larger throughout the night and also burnt a tree planted in front of the building
Six firefighters were also rushed to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries but they are all expected to recover, according to ABC.
FDNY Assistant Chief Tom Currao told the news station that four residential units were affected and no civilians were injured.
'We're working with NYC Emergency Management on relocation for those residents,' he told ABC.
The 12 displaced residents were temporarily relocated to area hotels throughout the city with the help of American Red Cross, as reported by News 12.
The department is investigating the cause of the fire, which also charred the siding of the neighboring building.

Earlier this month, at least one crew of eight from FDNY Engine 243 in Brooklyn was told to go home and another ten units were down in Williamsburg, East New York, Brownsville, Sunset Park and Flatbush.
