Tampi FC, Lambung YCC cruise into DC Chandel Trophy semis

Imphal, November 24 2021: Tampi FC and Lambung YCG comfortably won their respective quarterfinal matches to complete the semifinal lineup of the DC Chandel Trophy on Wednesday at Mini Stadium, Chandel.

Tampi FC scored twice in either half to seal their place in the semifinals with a 4-0 thrashing of Cheengkhu YC.

DY Nohrin set the tone for the rout when he converted nine minutes from kickoff.

Then RD John extended the advantage in the 23th minute as Tampi FC went into the second half taking a 2-0 lead.

After the interval, WS Famous found the back of the net in the 74th minute to make it 3-0 before SNG Phungta's 77th-minute strike ensured Tampi ran out dominant 4-0 winners on their way to the last four.

Earlier, Shelpa netted a brace as Lambung YCC earned a smooth passage into the semifinals with a 4-1 victory over Chandel Khullen YC.

Mothawar opened the scoring for Lambung in the 34th minute and Shelpa doubled the advantage in the space of three minutes before Mosimla further stretched their lead to 3 0 in the 55th minute.

Ten minutes later, Shelpa was in action again to score his second and team's fourth goal and put Lambung firmly in control.

Chandel Khullen managed to find a goal in the 76th minute but that was as far as they could go as Lambung YC defended their lead well to run out 4-1 winners.
