Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:09AM

Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 5.48%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.46%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 1.46%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.78%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 0.48%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 0.19%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 0.17%), AVADHSUGAR(up 0.09%) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 0.07%) were among the top gainers.

K.M.Sugar Mills(down 1.55%), BAJAJHIND(down 1.46%), Sakthi Sugars(down 1.35%), EID Parry(down 1.23%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 1.17%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.85%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.83%), Rana Sugars(down 0.80%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.65%) and Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 0.59%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 30.6 points down at 17384.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 93.87 points at 58247.12 at around 10:09AM.

Reliance Industries(up 2.13%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.83%), UPL Ltd(up 0.72%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.65%), Infosys(up 0.51%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.49%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.3%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.24%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.17%) and Tata Motors(up 0.17%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Indian Oil Corporation(down 1.88%), Shree Cement(down 1.64%), ICICI Bank(down 1.55%), Coal India(down 1.51%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.22%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.18%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.13%), Eicher Motors(down 1.07%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.06%) and HDFC(down 1.0%) were trading in the red.
