AmaZulu head coach Benni McCarthy did not shy away from telling it like it is during his post-match interview following his sides 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs in a midweek DStv Premiership encounter on Wednesday.
The former Cape Town City boss had to see his charges go 1-0 behind courtesy of an own goal through last week's hero Keagan Buchanan.
In the 60th minute, Chiefs went down to 10-men as Cole Alexander received his marching orders.
It took AmaZulu nearly 20 minutes to take advantage of having the upper hand as Bongi Ntuli netted in the 77th minute.
However, things took a turn for the worse as Samkelo Mgwazela also received a red card with five minutes on the clock remaining.
McCarthy, who arrived at the club in December 2020, took Usuthu from depths of relegation to finishing runners-up last season.
However, already in the 2021/22 campaign, McCarthy has had to see his charges succumb to their seventh draw, the most out of any Premiership team.
Cutting a frustrated figure in his post-match interview with SuperSport TV, McCarthy spoke honestly about the way his team performed.
