Man accused of running prostitution ring in Boulder County
Nov. 24—A Boulder sex offender has been charged with multiple felonies after police said he was running a prostitution ring on the Front Range.
Randolph "Randy" Scott Clark, 38, is charged with human trafficking, pimping, sexual assault, pandering — arranging prostitution and invasion of privacy.
Clark was already in custody in Denver following his arrest in August.
According to an arrest affidavit, Clark's name came up after Louisville police went to a hotel for a welfare check and found that a woman had been sexually assaulted on Nov. 12, 2020.
Investigators believe that Clark arranged the meeting between the woman and the men she met in the room. The woman later told police she first met Clark while trying to buy Xanax but that he eventually would pimp her out in exchange for drugs and money.
Other witnesses contacted in the case also said Clark was known for providing girls.
According to an arrest affidavit, police found Facebook messages from Clark that "showed a pattern with Randy providing drugs to girls, coercing them to work for him and make money as prostitutes, and then dumping them if they became uncooperative."
An investigator found that Clark was under investigation for similar allegations in Denver. Court records show Clark does have a human trafficking case in Denver as well.
In addition, Clark is also charged with sexual assault on a child, sexual exploitation of a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in a Boulder County case.
In that case, the mother of a 13-year-old found videos of her daughter having sex with Clark on her phone. The girl told police Clark would pay her to perform sexual favors, and said they had met up for sex about six times.
Clark is a registered sex offender following a conviction for unlawful sexual contact, and also has a lengthy criminal history including past convictions related to prostitution, according to the affidavit.
Based on investigation, the Boulder County District Attorney's Office is concerned there are more victims in the case.
