German coalition commits to driving faster decarbonisation
FRANKFURT, Nov 24 (Reuters) - The incoming German coalition government will tighten up and accelerate its climate protection efforts by launching far-reaching reforms to its funding and expanding of renewable energy, the coalition deal seen by Reuters showed on Wednesday.
At the centre of a raft of measures, the coalition said it will ensure a faster roll-out of carbon-free power capacity, more ambitious carbon emissions prices to incentivise a quick exit from fossil fuels and more aggressive support for a hydrogen economy, the agreement showed.
