BATHINDA: Despite PM Narendra Modi's announcement that the three central farm laws would be repealed in the winter session of Parliament, the farmer bodies have stuck to their "Chalo Dilli" calls. Farmers are being asked to reach Delhi borders to observe the completion of a year of protests on November 26 and tractor trolley marches towards Parliament from November 29. Many farmers have started reaching the borders of the national capital and others are making plans to move. Meetings are being organised by various farm organisations in Punjab to mobilise farmers towards the Delhi borders. Preparations are underway at the Singhu and Tikri borders and at Bahadurgarh for the large number of farmers expected to arrive. BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) has started preparations to accommodate large numbers of farmers in its pandal. "A new, open place measuring over 10 acres has been earmarked and a pandal is being set up. The shed put up at the old place will be used for the farmers to sleep at the night. We expect over one lakh persons to reach on November 26," said outfit secretary Shingara Singh Mann.
