The Proteas have received a double blow to their fast bowling stocks with Lungi Ngidi and Lizaad Williams both ruled out of the three-match ODI series against the Netherlands.
Ngidi has tested positive for Covid-19 while Williams is out with an intercostal muscle strain. Williams will continue to be assessed in the coming days, but he is not expected to feature in the series.
The first ODI takes place at SuperSport Park on Friday.
A Cricket South Africa (CSA) statement released on Wednesday confirmed that Junior Dala had been brought in as a replacement to bolster the squad, adding that Ngidi was in "good spirits".
"He is well and in good spirits and abiding by Cricket South Africa's Covid-19 protocols, in line with government regulations. The Proteas medical team will keep in contact with him to ensure his physical and mental well-being," the statement read.
CSA has also confirmed its management team for the tour:
Mark Boucher (Head Coach), Khomotso Volvo Masubelele (Team Manager), Charl Langeveldt (Bowling Coach), Justin Sammons (Batting Consultant), Imraan Khan (Fielding Coach), Kyle Southgate (Video Analyst), Konrad von Hagen (Team Dr), Sizwe Hadebe (Physiotherapist), Sherwin Baatjes (Strength & Conditioning Coach)
The Proteas are currently in 9th place on the ICC World Super League table, and they will need to break into the top eight if they are to secure qualification for the 2023 World Cup in India.
These matches against the Netherlands will count towards that table.
